Mr. Dixon has more than 17 years of project CAD management experience in fiber optic OSP engineering design and construction for telecommunications systems projects. Mr. Dixon has a broad experience in the design, permitting, and preparation of project drawings for fiber optic cable projects. As project CAD manager, he has supervised a CAD staff of as many as 25 CAD operators, quality control staff, and field designers. His telecommunications experience includes approximately 5,800 miles of fiber optic outside plant design and construction.

Relevant Project Experience

  • CAD Manager, supporting design build project for installation of fiber optic cable in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, and New Mexico. Project utilized Micro station SE in the preparation of drawings representing over 1,200 miles of construction.
  • Project Manager, for design, plan production, and permitting of Seattle, Washington interconnect project in CBD section of Seattle.
  • Project CAD Manager, Texas Loop fiber optic cable project. Managed the preparation of construction and permit drawings for 900-mile project interconnecting Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Fort Worth, Texas. Project tasks included developing CAD drafting standards and typical detail drawings. AutoCAD 14 was used for this project.
  • Project CAD Manager, Glendive to Billings, Montana Design/Build project. Managed CAD staff in the preparation of construction, permit, and record drawings representing 245 miles of fiber optic cable construction.
  • Project CAD Manager, Fiber optic cable, Salt Lake City, Utah to Seattle, Washington - 876 miles. Supervised the preparation of more than 470 bid, construction, and record drawingson of construction.
  • OSP Designer and CAD Supervisor, Fiber optic cable project, Bandon, Oregon to Fort Jones, California - 284 miles.
  • Project CAD Manager, Castle Rock, Washington to OR/CA border - 360 miles. Supervised CAD staff in the preparation of more than 1600 plan and detail drawings.
  • OSP Designer, Seattle to Blaine, Washington - 145 miles. Design of buried fiber optic cable plant on railroad and public roadway corridors.
  • Right-of-way/Permit Specialist, Victorville to Bakersfield, California - 145 miles. Responsible for the acquisition of right-of-way and permits for this fiber optic cable project. The project also provided for the removal of 65 miles of coaxial cable.
